I now have been playing guitar for 40 years.  When I first met Rick several years ago, I had decided to take lessons after many years learning on my own.  My guitar playing had stalled and I was not able to break through to another level of playing that I desired, but seemed elusive. Rick was just amazing, he started me on the very first Suzuki book and sat patiently while I screeched out Twinkle Twinkle and other familiar tunes. He was encouraging and nurtured my interest and soon I was practicing and playing all kinds of music. He steadily challenged me with more difficult pieces and reassured me after a few years that I was ready to join some local string ensembles.
